Emilios Max Boeros was born in Limassol in 2007 and is currently a high school student at the American International School of Cyprus.  Emilios speaks fluently Greek, English and German. Throughout his school years he is achieving academic high honors and being awarded for outstanding academic achievement in Science and Maths. He also plays the clarinet and piano and he is an ambassador for “Hope for Children” advocating for children’s rights.

Emilios started sailing Optimist with the Famagusta Nautical Club (FNC) in Limassol at the age of six. At the age of eleven, Emilios climbed to the 3rd position in the Cyprus National Ranking that earned him a place in the Cyprus Optimist National Team and the opportunity to participate for the first time in the 2018 Optimist World Championship.  From 2019 to 2021 he maintained the 1st position in the Optimist national ranking and participated with the Cyprus Optimist National Team in several International Regattas and Championships achieving his best position in the Optimist Category internationally this year, a 5th place in the 2021 Optimist European Championship in Cadiz Spain.

Between the years 2017 to 2021 he has won the Cyprus Optimist National Championship in the Optimist Cadet Boys division for 3 consecutive years, in 2019 took the 2nd place overall and the last two years in 2020 and 2021, he has won the National Optimist Championship.  Other achievements include five consecutive podium positions in the first 5 Mediterranean Optimist Championship Regattas which was held annually in Limassol and a 6th position in the Athens International Sailing Week Optimist Regatta in 2019.

Currently Emilios is in the transition to Laser 4.7 and this year he has managed to climb to the 1st position in the Laser 4.7 National Ranking as well.  He was also stemmed the Laser 4.7 Cyprus National Champion for 2021.

Emilios has a deep passion for sailing and under the guidance and coaching of the FNC and sailCY professional coaches and with the support of the Cyprus Sailing Federation (CYSAF) and the Cyprus Sports Association (KOA) he aims to become an internationally acclaimed sailor.
