Andriani Georgiou was born in Limassol in 23/11/2006. Her Love and Passion for Sailing started at the age of 7 joining the Famagusta Nautical Club, Optimist Sailing Team. After 5 years of hard work, in 2018 she won the 1st place in the Cadet girls category and 2nd place in the Open Girls. The next 3 years 2019-2021 she has been stemmed the Girls Cyprus National Champion and deservedly had a position in the National Team. In 2020 she started training as a member of sailCY and participated in the Optimist European Championship in Portoroz Slovenia, achieving the 10th European place girls overall, making this the best ever performance in the optimist girls fleet in Cyprus. During the same year as a newcomer in the Cyprus Laser 4.7 National Championship she was placed 2nd, in both the U16 & U18 Girls categories. In 2021 she represented her country in the Optimist European Championship in Cadiz Spain achieving the 24th overall European place, subsequently coming back from a few unfortunate incidents that threw away the chance for a Top10 position. After collecting valuable experience and knowledge as an optimist sailor she is now ready to leave this category behind her and with the same passion, hard work and dedication she will continue her sailing journey in the Laser category aiming always for many personal records.
