The Cyprus Sailing Federation in collaboration with the International Techno293 Class Association is proud to announce that the 2022 T293 & T293+ World Championship will be held in Cyprus for the first time from the 29th of October to the 5th of November.
This is a big event that is expected to host more than 250 young sailors who will be competing in different Classes and Divisions which are “Junior Boy & Girl”, “Youth Boy & Girl”, and “U13”. We’re expecting to host an excess of more than 400 guests for a period of nine days. Athletes from all over the world with their support teams and coaches and Officials of the Techno293 Class.
Throughout this event the Cyprus Sailing Federation will be actively promoting the sport of windsurfing(sailing) to our youth, we aim to make Cyprus the center for top-level Sailing Events and Training Camps in the Mediterranean which will increase tourism and boost the economy.
The opening ceremony will take place in the Limassol Marina on the 31st of October with the valuable support of the Marina management and Municipality of Limassol. We would like to thank them for their valuable contribution.
The awards & closing ceremony will take place on the 5th of November at the theater of Agios Tychonas next to the National Sailing Center with the support of the Council of Agios Tychonas, to whom we are grateful.

It is worth mentioning that two athletes of KIO Iakovos Christofidis and Vassilis Charalambous have already qualified in this class, and have met the criteria to join the Cyprus Sports Organisation.
We are confident that in the near future more organizations and companies will join us in bringing our youth closer to the sea and sailing, by offering a safe environment through sports and Fair Play.
